Awards Given, Winners Drawn at Recognition Dinner
Approximately 100 donors, volunteers, staff members, and residents attended the 2005 Recognition Dinner on September 20 in the gymnasium at Campbell Lodge Boys' Home.
The highlight of the evening was a speech from current resident Justin Harvill. Having never given a speech before, Justin spoke about his experience at the Home over the past 14 months and his hopes for the future. The audience gave him a well-deserved standing ovation.
Another highlight was the awards.
The Star Performance Award was given to long-time volunteer Bill Miller of Ft. Mitchell. Until his "retirement" from Campbell Lodge in August 2004, Bill volunteered every Tuesday in the business office for 10 years. He also helped out with mailings and special events.
Anthem received the Corporate Citizen of the Year Award for their generous support of the Home in recent years; John Martie from Anthem was on hand to receive the award. Congratulations and thank you to both of these award winners for helping us fulfill our mission.
The annual Grand Raffle drawing was held at the end of the evening. Two current residents helped draw the names of the five winners. The three $1,000 winners are Richard Birkenhauer, Ron Frommel, and Mike Muehlenkamp. The two $500 winners are Robert Zembrodt and Don Michaels. Congratulations to all!
Finally, staff service recognition was given to Laura Gordon, Quality Improvement Coordinator, for her 5 years of service to the Home, and to Pam Ruschman, Office Manager, for 10 years of service. Thank you, Laura and Pam, for your years of service.
