Accreditation Raises the Bar at Campbell Lodge
We are proud to announce the successful completion of a lengthy accreditation process. The Council on Accreditation for Families and Children (COA) recently notified us to culminate the undertaking.
According to Mike Schroth, Executive Director, "This has been an eighteen-month process, and we are thrilled to receive national accreditation. It is quite the accomplishment to have our programs and services recognized and approved at the highest national standards. I am very proud of our organization and our staff."
One of the chief roles of accreditation is to identify organizations in which the public can have confidence. Accreditation also provides evidence to the community that the organization has met accepted standards of operation; identifies organizations that are worthy of support from funders; establishes goals for organizational improvement; and protects the organization against pressures to lower standards.
Begun in 1977 under the sponsorship of the Child Welfare League of America and Family Service America (now the Alliance for Children and Families), COA is the most comprehensive independent accrediting body for organizations that provide behavioral health care, social, and other community services to families, children, and individuals. Over 1,300 organizations have been accredited by COA in the U.S. and Canada since 1977.
