Long-time Patrons Honored
Art and Joan Thomson have been there since the beginning. Joan - a cousin of Fr. Ray Nieman, who started CLBH in 1958 – remembers doing laundry and cooking meals during that first year. And there were the card parties at Summit Hills Country Club as well, sponsored by the now-defunct Ladies Guild to raise funds for the Home. And the monthly donations the Thomson’s have sent over the years, often with a short note of encouragement enclosed.
The couple was our guest of honor at the National Philanthropy Day luncheon at the Hyatt Regency Cincinnati on November 2, 2006. Steve Hegge, CLBH Director of Development, joined the Thomson’s at the annual event, which recognizes volunteers and donors from organizations throughout the Greater Cincinnati area. “We are deeply appreciative of the Thomson’s support, past and present,” says Mike Schroth, CLBH Executive Director. “Thanks to them and the many donors and volunteers who support the Home, we are able to carry out our mission from day to day, year to year.”
Art and Joan – thank you.
