A Message from Executive Director
As you know, our country’s leaders are continuing to make difficult decisions in their efforts to find peaceful resolutions to the world’s significant problems. We at Campbell Lodge are likewise attempting to provide the opportunities for peaceful solutions to the day-to-day problems of all our residents.
This past year has been filled with many challenges. We have seen a drastic change in the severity of the issues facing the children who have been referred to our program over the past couple of years. Many have come to us with a significant history of psychiatric and substance abuse issues. With the change in referrals, we have also adjusted our program, particularly during core times, to be even more structured with the addition of more theme-oriented
process groups in addition to increasing individual time with residents who might find themselves in crisis situations.
This year has also been filled with improvements and successes. One of our residents graduated from Campbell County High School and another resident successfully completed his freshman year at Covington Catholic High School. Many safety and health improvements were made to our physical plant based on recommendations from a local architectural firm.
Our goal for this next year is to explore new program initiatives in addition to aggressively pursuing a more diversified revenue stream for Campbell Lodge. We will also be applying for the national honor of being accredited by the Council on Accreditation for Children and Families, with the goal of completing this by October of 2004.
In closing, we want to extend our deepest appreciation to the Board, staff and volunteers of Campbell Lodge Boys’ Home for their unwavering commitment to the ministry and mission of our Home. May God Bless all of you for your gifts of time, talent and treasure.
