Chance Program CHANCE Program
(Children Having Access to a Nurturing, Compassionate Environment)

Ponte Hall
The CHANCE Program at Ponte Hall is a short-term, seven-day program for boys age 10 to 16 who have been discharged from psychiatric hospitalization, but still in need of treatment before returning home. Ponte residents stay from 3 to 6 months, attend school in the Campbell County school system, and have the opportunity to work on personal control, family issues, and behavior changes across settings – including school, home, and community. Parents and guardians of these young men join the family therapy team to enhance communications and understanding, and to tackle problems as a team. The program also includes a comprehensive 90-day home-based aftercare component.

Ponte Hall Admission Criteria:

  • adolescent boy age 10-16 with severe, persistent Axis I diagnosis other than dementia or substance abuse
  • discharge straight to Campbell Lodge Boys' Home from psychiatric hospital
  • IMPACT Plus certified – CHANCE Program staff will work with discharge planners and workers to complete required application paperwork to IMPACT Plus and to facilitate successful transition

Guild Hall

The CHANCE Program at Guild Hall is a long-term, seven-day program for boys age 12 to18 who have been committed as wards of the Commonwealth of Kentucky (parental custody rights were suspended or terminated). Guild residents typically stay from one to two years, attend school in the Campbell County school system, and have weekly individual and group counseling. Family counseling is available when appropriate. Staff work to ensure that residents have the structure, stability, and routine needed to function productively at school and in the community.

Guild Hall Admission Criteria

  • adolescent boy age 12-18
  • in custody of the Commonwealth of Kentucky
